Carbonate Removal Equipment
Decarbonised water is used in energetic industry (boilers, cooling towers) and in other industries (laundry, instrument cooling).
- robust, reliable solution, less sensitive to fine impurities of the water than membrane techniques
- low investment, operation and maintenance cost
- HCl is used for regeneration
- salty effluents are produced during regeneration
One widely used method for decarbonisation is ion exchange.
Our practice is to direct water first to weak acid resin than strong acid resin column. Calcium and magnesium are removed and carbon dioxide is freed. Free carbon dioxide than removed by degassers.Â
Exhausted weak acid resin is regenerated by dilute HCl solution, strong acid resin is regenerated by NaCl solution. Regeneration effluents must be neutralized prior to release. Â
